INVICTVS

Jay Waltz This is crazy good! The musical is dissonant and menacing, while the vocals come across like he is screeching some sort of incantation at the stars. I’m picturing some otherworldly non terrestrial entity being pissed that it is trapped on this planet, and is anathematizing the gods for being stuck here. Okay, okay. I went too deep with that last bit, but, you should definitely give this a listen.

GeN2Mo I feel like this project's more recent releases fly under a lot of radars because of its inception in a very specific niche of early djent. But the project has gone through a lot of iterations since then and the overall instrumental foundation has shifted towards dissonant Black Metal. Which not only makes this potentially interesting to a whole new listener-group, the shift also helps to intensify the dynamic of sublime calm flaoting on a raging current to mesmerizing effect. Don't skip this.

Amore e morte There shall be famine and war Great drought shall there be Blasphemy, iniquity Envy and indolence, Pride and intemperance Sacrifice unto me with deceitful mind Therefore will I not look upon them Essence brought into the treasury Of the king God's kingdom shall be desolate The altars abhorred So that spiders weave their webs therein The place of holiness shall be corrupted The priesthood polluted Virtue shall be overcome Evil shall abound Truth shall be no more O Holy shadow, Descend plentifully into my heart Darken the corners Of this neglected dwelling And scatter there Thy cheerful screams
